That’s pan-seared chicken with salsa verde, from a recipe given to me by a friend at work. Quite tasty, and it feels like the first “real” dish I’ve prepared. I am, however, running out of patience with the stove, since it seems impossible to use it and not fill my apartment with smoke. I’ve opened the window, run the central fan, run the fan over the stove, nothing helps. Maybe I’m doing something wrong. There’s a whole spectrum of food that’s not prepared by cooking it in a pan, and I think I need to focus on that.
I’m not doing a spending post this week since I’m in kind of a rotten mood after finishing the weekly drawing. Short version is, I spent around $55 on food, and $15 on entertainment, which was for GTA IV for my PS3.
I got to play a couple hours of GTA last night, but otherwise I spent the entire night cooking and working on the drawing. Didn’t get a chance to play any LOTRO, which makes two days wasted. Nor did I have time to study French. It’s a miracle I’m even writing this post: it’s 12:30 AM as I write it and I have half a mind just to close my browser and play some GTA until I go cross-eyed.
